NYC boxcar on a Penn Central freight at Berea,Ohio - Dec 1975.

Berea is just west of Cleveland on the ex-NYC Chicago-Ny main.

ex Penn Central/New Haven RDC #75 leaving South Station in Boston -- September 1977.
Built in 1953 for the New Haven.
In '77 the tracks, signals,etc at the back of South Station were little changed from steam days.

On the ex-PRR line to Orrville.
Looking east - the tracks to the left are the EL Chicago-New York line while the ones on the right are the B&O Chicago-WashDC route.
I like the double signal - Erie on top - PRR/B&O on the bottom.

ex-Penn Central ex-PRR E8 at New Orleans.
This unit was at the New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal shops
stripped of most components.
I don't know its real number since #293 doesn't fit with any roster
numbers I've looked up.

(1) ex PC-NYC T3a #4678 at Wilmington,Del
This ex-NYC T3a was built in the 20's and pulled New York Central trains from Grand Central Station to Croton Harmon? for decades. From the info I've found #4678 was last used in New York on a wire train and probably had been out of service for 4 or 5 years before this shot.
New York Central lettering can still be seen (and pole pockets!).
A couple of still lettered NYC baggage cars were next to the 4678.
These shots were at the roundhouse in Wilmington.
